Dear U.S. Junior Championship Invitees,

On behalf of the U.S. Chess Federation, the Marshall Chess Club and the
Borough of Manhattan Community College, I would like to welcome you to the
1998 Interplay U.S. Junior Championship. We wish you all the best of luck in
this exciting and much followed competition, and we hope you enjoy your visit
to the chessically and culturally rich downtown Manhattan area.

The Marshall Chess Club dates back to 1915 and is one of the great
American chess clubs, playing host to many premier events. The Borough of
Manhattan Community College, the largest college in the City University of New
York system, fields a well-known championship collegiate team and has hosted
many top chess events in the last few years.

If during the tournament you need assistance in any way, please do not
hesitate to call on me. We are all looking forward to some fantastic chess in
the long and great tradition of the U.S. Junior Championship.
Sincerely, Howard Prince President, Marshall Chess Club Professor of Social Science Borough of Manhattan Community College
